Landis Construction is proud to announce that intern Kameron Steele has graduated from the Innovation Internship Program at Greater New Orleans, Inc.
“From hands-on experience in field operations to putting together competitive estimates, Landis Construction has given me an unforgettable three-summer experience,” said Steele, a rising construction management senior at Louisiana State University. “I am incredibly grateful for the hands-on growth, the wonderful people I worked alongside, and the best possible start to my professional journey.”
During his first two summers at Landis, Steele worked as a project engineer intern. This year, he joined the Estimating Department, assisting the team with project takeoffs, generating scope sheets, trade partner pricing, and more.
“I really enjoy working with Estimating,” Steele said. “I like getting to dig into the scope of work, reading blueprints, and gaining an early understanding of a project before it goes to operations. You get to see things you might not notice in the field. I really enjoy working with the team, the daily huddles — that’s my favorite part.”
“Internships are a great way for us to provide better opportunities for all of us, as well as a great way to be introduced to aspiring young professionals like Kam,” said Landis CEO Anne Teague Landis. “Each team he has worked with at Landis has been impressed by his attitude and impact; we know he will do great things.”
GNO’s Innovation Internship Program draws students from four-year colleges and universities in Louisiana or students who hold permanent residency in the Greater New Orleans area. This year, the program placed 45 college students with 39 companies across Southeast Louisiana. Now in its sixth year, the eight-week paid internship has served over 100 students since 2021.
The 2026 cohort represents students from institutions including Case Western Reserve University, Dillard University, Louisiana State University, Loyola University of New Orleans, Southern University at New Orleans (SUNO), Southern University and A&M College at Baton Rouge (SUBR), Southeastern Louisiana University, Texas Southern University, Tulane University, University of New Orleans, University of Notre Dame, and Xavier University of Louisiana (XULA).
