New Orleans powerhouse construction firm Landis Construction has opened its first out-of-market office in Pensacola, Florida, marking the first time the family-owned company has expanded its footprint outside the state since it was founded in 1956.
“We see Landis as a Gulf South contractor,” said Anne Teague Landis, the third generation to run the company founded by her grandfather. “The Pensacola office gives us farther reach along the panhandle and into Alabama and Georgia.”
The Florida office positions Landis to bid on similar projects it already has a successful track record for in Southeast Louisiana: hospitality, historic, civil, office, multi-family and educational projects.
Landis said while company leadership had previously considered out-of-town work, a big impetus to expand offices beyond Louisiana was during the aftermath of Hurricane Ida in 2021 when services, including internet connectivity, remained unstable.
