Working from May 2011 to March 2012, Landis completed the first major restoration of the Windsor Court Hotel in 1984. The fast-tracked project included the renovation of all 316 guest rooms and suites, public spaces, and meeting rooms, plus the addition of a new bar, pool, and full-service spa. Because the hotel had to remain in service during the renovation, the Landis team used a phased approach, working on one floor a week from top to bottom and turning over a finished floor every six weeks. This allowed 70 percent of the hotel to remain open for business throughout the entire process. Modifications to the guest rooms included new layouts, with several redesigned to meet ADA compliance standards. New additions to the hotel included a sales office on the third floor, and meeting rooms on the fourth floor, as well as a new small but elegant cocktail bar adjacent to the Le Salon tearoom, and a 4,500 square foot full-service spa. The ceiling of the reception is completely covered with LED-backlit lighting with Swarovski crystals, making it only the second of its kind in the country.

From post-bid construction analysis through final punchlist completion, Landis worked diligently with our firm to build an exemplary new school, one which impressed the client enough to become the RSD’s prototype design for future elementary schools. Based on working with Landis Construction over several decades, I do not hesitate to highly recommend Landis for your upcoming construction projects.
