The 24,000-square-foot Shell Basic Offshore Operations Skills Training (BOOST) Facility was a design-build project comprised of a pair of pre-engineered metal buildings constructed on-site in 2014. The state-of-the-art facility with a custom exterior facade contains classrooms, common areas, and instructional labs. These labs are fully-equipped with electrical panels, instruments, blow-out preventers, subsea control rooms, computer networks, and other drilling equipment oil workers would use on the job. The center features 20 multi-purpose classrooms and conference facilities ranging in capacity from 8 to 300, guest computers with free wireless internet access, two on-site galleys, on-site lodging for 144, laundry facilities, workout facilities, and a game room.
From post-bid construction analysis through final punchlist completion, Landis worked diligently with our firm to build an exemplary new school, one which impressed the client enough to become the RSD’s prototype design for future elementary schools. Based on working with Landis Construction over several decades, I do not hesitate to highly recommend Landis for your upcoming construction projects.
