Ernest N. Morial Convention Center Linear Park

Landis recently completed the total replacement of approximately one mile of the two-lane road on Convention Center Blvd., including underground utilities, concrete, striping, signage, traffic signals, cobblestone medians and some sidewalks. The scope of this work involved a brand new Transportation Center to house buses, shuttles, taxis, and rideshares including steel structures, metal panels, FRC panels, lighting, and landscaping, and a new Pedestrian Park alongside the building, which includes a fountain, updated porches with new metal panels, new lighting, benches, and landscaping.

Obstacles incurred but our project team worked with local authorities and partners to find solutions. Some of the challenges experienced included navigating underground utilities that were installed years ago, brick footings in the lots where the Transportation Center was built, and old roadways beneath the current roadway. The Convention Center remained operational throughout the entire duration of the project, making coordination of entrances and emergency exits critical. The new Linear Park at the Convention Center provides countless benefits for residents, businesses and meeting attendees alike through 7.5 acres of re-purposed roadway into lush green spaces and pedestrian corridors that create a truly vibrant experience integrated with New Orleans city life.
