Landis completed the new Student Union, Health & Wellness Center for Dillard University. The 57,000 square foot structure features a bookstore, fitness center, movie theater, four-lane bowling alley, food court, and common meeting areas. The project is LEED certified by the US Green Building Council (USGBC) at the Gold level. Some of the green elements include high-efficiency HVAC and electrical systems, heavy use of locally and regionally produced materials, and preservation or enhancement of existing natural features, including the lake that fronts the building. The method of delivery for this project was design-build.
From post-bid construction analysis through final punchlist completion, Landis worked diligently with our firm to build an exemplary new school, one which impressed the client enough to become the RSD’s prototype design for future elementary schools.
