Landis completed the full renovation of the abandoned 4-story, 6,633 sq. ft. building at 617 Canal Street in downtown New Orleans into three Airbnb units on the upper floors with three bedrooms and two baths on each floor and retail space on the ground level. The scope of work for this transformational project included: removal of the existing partitions and stairs within, the rehabilitation of the plaster facade and existing gallery and windows, redesign of the entry storefront to meet historic standards, replacement of the existing elevator, installation of a new stairwell to the three rental units to serve egress requirements, build-out of a roof-top addition extending the new stair, installation of all new mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, and the incorporation of a new fire alarm and sprinkler system.

From post-bid construction analysis through final punchlist completion, Landis worked diligently with our firm to build an exemplary new school, one which impressed the client enough to become the RSD’s prototype design for future elementary schools. Based on working with Landis Construction over several decades, I do not hesitate to highly recommend Landis for your upcoming construction projects.
