Landis completed the new Recovery School District (RSD) Stuart R. Bradley building located at 2401 Humanity Street in 2015. The project was guided by the School Facilities Master Plan for Orleans Parish, an unprecedented school construction program launched as a result of the devastating impact of Hurricane Katrina. The $1.8 billion plan was approved in November 2008 by the state Board of Elementary and Secondary Education and the Orleans Parish School Board, representing the first major facilities plan for Orleans Parish schools since 1952. The new, 106,000 square foot Mary McLeod Bethune Elementary School of Literature and Technology is located in the Gentilly Terrace neighborhood of New Orleans. It serves nearly 800 students grades Pre-K through 8. The project included a gymnasium, cafeteria, academic, art, and science classrooms, administration areas, student services, library/media rooms, special education facilities, and music/performing spaces.
