Northwestern State University Varnado Residence Hall

The Varnado Residence Hall at Northwestern State University, the project included restoration and rehabilitation of an existing historic three-story residence hall initially built in 1939 and renovated in 1988. The project consisted of 98 dorm rooms in the east and west residence wings, including two residence assistant suites on the second floor and two double suites on the third floor, as well as one guest residence on the first floor. Public restrooms in the residence hall were completely reconstructed. The project also included a center single-story common area with offices for support staff, lobby, espresso bar, and assembly areas for students and staff. The building's historic ballroom was transformed into space where performances and other events take place, and faculty rectors oversee programming that promotes artistic engagement.
